Do whatever you can!
We never had enough to eat. We were always hungry. People were looking down on us. But today, everything is different. Today I am a nurse. I like my job very much. I like the patients. CMC helps many poor patients. It is great to be able to help them. They see us and their faces shine, that is my best reward. Although I am often very tired because of my work, I still find it very satisfying.
It‘s not about money. Shalom has more to give than only money. It is about the prayers and the loving care. Because of our desperate situation, my mother used to cry every night. But then, they supported us in many ways. Shalom is like a family, it has become my home. I am not just a number, not just somebody, but I am respected and appreciated as a human being. I‘ve got a special name for the woman who sponsors me: I call her „my older sister“.
The most important thing I have learned is this:
Do whatever you can! Do it now!
